New Friends at Unique Summer Market

Posted by on

We had a blast last weekend at Unique Summer Market in Santa Monica’s famous Barkar Hangar, where 150+ incredibly talented makers and crafters came together to share their gorgeous products.

The best part about these events for us is meeting so many wonderful new friends, fans, customers and fellow makers. We are honored to be a part of such a creative and generous community!

We just had to share with you a few new friends and favorites from last weekend’s Unique Summer Market:

Samantha Santana’s booth was swarmed all weekend - her gorgeous, fun and stylish stick and peel wallpaper was a highlight for all of the weekend’s attendees. Samantha’s wallpapers featured eye-catching pattens of tropical florals and brilliant colors, and coupled with her super kind personality, this is a company you need to check out ASAP.

Hyun Yu’s spectacular hyworks jewelry is absolutely stunning. We met Hyun back in July at Renegade LA, and you better believe we didn’t walk away from her amazing booth without a few different pieces of hers. Her unique style is absolutely unforgettable - chic and always one of a kind!

A new find for us was actually one of our neighboring booths, thank goodness for us. Jamika’s ROSEN Skincare not only smelled insanely great, but was made of all natural materials that do wonders for your skin. Jamika was so sweet, as we tried every tester she had on the table! Her products are incredible. We eventually took home one of her tingling clay masks and let’s just say we will definitely be returning to ROSEN. Skincare soon.

California Cowboy’s booth setup was super California cool, with racks of Hawaiian shirts and really beautiful short-kimono style robes. After talking with Tucker, our California Cowboy expert, we learned these are not just any Hawaiian style shirts - each Highwater shirt comes with several hidden pockets, one for keeping your personal items water proof and another for that cold beer, among others! With each shirt lined with cozy terrycloth, these are a must have for beach and city dwellers alike. We took home a kimono, and we’ve already got our eyes on a few Highwater shirts for Christmas gifts.
One of the first booths as you walked into last weekend’s Unique Summer Market was Jasmine’s Shen Supply, an amazing display of handmade ceramics ranging from mugs, to spoons, to platters, to jewelry. We were back and forth so many times from Jasmine’s display, we just couldn’t get enough of the meticulously glazed and fired pieces.

We can’t get enough of Patrick's For Better Not Worse and their amazing graphic tees. These are by far the coziest fabrics we’ve ever felt. On top of which, every shirt has a witty phrase or beautiful message on it. A favorite of ours was “
Coffee. Yoga. Puppies. Naps.” How great is that? And to top it all off - for every item sold, FBNW gives a bag of groceries to children in need across the US. You can’t get better than that!

Another friend we met at Renegade LA in July, and saw again last weekend was Betsey Carter Ceramics (thank goodness!). Betsy’s pieces are beyond stunning and perfect to fill up your cabinets with beautiful colors and fun messages. Our fave was a beautiful light blue, giant mug with “LAUGH” imprinted on the side. Coffee in the morning never seemed so sweet!

And last but certainly not least, our wonderful next-door booth, Eileen's Wander Wet Bags. Her wonderful waterproof pouches are not only super cute, but a huge save after a day at the beach, pool or after yoga. Throw your wet clothes in one of Eileen’s cute pouches and save yourself a wet purse or suitcase!! As we said before, its such a blast being  a part of this incredibly creative and outrageously kind community.

Of course, we must say thanks to Sonja, Jana and the entire Unique Team - what an honor to be accepted into such a top tier event. The energy in Barkar Hangar last weekend was insane, from the gorgeous booths to the enthusiastic customers, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience.

We will see you all at Unqiue’s December Market - so keep an eye out for us, December 2-3 in downtown Los Angeles!!

Love,

Riley & Jesse
